Alana Malibu creates illustrations of backyard pools in the Los Angeles area – dreamy spaces filled with sunlight, tropical plants, still water and a sense of escape, drifting somewhere far away.

The drawings begin with hours spent wandering through Google Maps, searching for pools that spark something: often vague, pixelated images that leave space for imagination. From these fragments, she builds her own dream worlds – not necessarily how these places truly look, but how they could feel. Each illustration becomes a form of escapism: a search for stillness, freedom, and the desire to momentarily disappear into another world, suspended somewhere between memory, longing, and daydreaming.
