Silas

Silas Schletterer is a Rotterdam-based artist whose paintings draw inspiration from cinema and fashion photography. His work often features mysterious, solitary figures in atmospheric landscapes, exploring themes of longing, isolation and the relationship between humans and nature. His distinctive portraits and bold use of colour give his work an instantly recognisable style.

Silas was a member of the influential Rotterdam art collective Antistrot and is now part of KAMP HORST, known for their collaborative paintings and murals. Alongside his visual art, he produces electronic music under the name Machinegewehr, moving between synth-driven sounds, electro and Italo disco.
