Rik van Iersel

Rik van Iersel (1954) is a Dutch artist working across drawing, painting and printmaking. His work moves between figuration and abstraction, built from loose, intuitive linework and layered compositions.

Alongside his visual practice, he was active as a musician, notably in Der Junge Hund and in collaboration with Han Bennink, including the project Transparancy-Wolk No. 3. This crossover between image and sound runs through his work, both driven by rhythm, repetition and spontaneity.
