Rammellzee

Rammellzee was a New York artist, graffiti writer, sculptor, performer and musician whose work brought together hip-hop, science fiction and radical ideas about language. As a rapper, he became an influential figure in the early underground hip-hop scene, most famously through the 1983 track *Beat Bop* with K-Rob. His paintings, sculptures, costumes and performances formed part of his self-created world of Gothic Futurism, in which letters became powerful, weapon-like forms.
