John Lie a Fo

John Lie a Fo (b. 1945) is a Dutch-Surinamese artist and musician.

His work moves between figuration and abstraction, driven by gesture, rhythm and a strong sense of movement.

Since the 1980s, his work has been widely exhibited in the Netherlands and Suriname, and is held in private and institutional collections. Alongside his visual practice, music has remained an important influence throughout his career.

He is also known for his poster design for the North Sea Jazz Festival.
