Jad Fair

Jad Fair is an American artist and musician best known as the co-founder of the influential indie band Half Japanese. Emerging from the underground scene in the late 1970s, Fair became a key figure in DIY culture, known for his raw, intuitive approach to both music and visual art.

Alongside his music, he has developed a prolific visual practice characterized by bold lines, playful imagery, and a childlike directness. His work spans drawings, paintings, and silkscreen prints, often closely connected to the same spontaneous energy that defines his songs.
