AUTOMATIC MIDNIGHT

Automatic Midnight is the artistic practice of The Hague–based artist and musician Lennard Kruithof. With a background in graphic design and over two decades of experience running his own studio, his work moves between visual art and music, where rhythm, structure and improvisation play a central role.

Working intuitively across different materials, Automatic Midnight develops raw, layered compositions that capture moments within an ongoing process rather than fixed outcomes. His practice explores the tension between control and spontaneity, often revealing traces of earlier stages beneath the surface. Rooted in a musical way of thinking, his work treats image-making as something temporal, shifting, and alive.
